Help Us Replace Our Scout Hut Posted in Fundraising, News For over 80 years, scouting has been a cornerstone of our community. Since 1942, young people aged 6 to 18 have found friendship and adventure in our scout group. Our current hut was donated to us in the 1980s and has served us very well but now, it’s time for an upgrade. Our Progress: 10 years ago we started on our path to raise funds to replace our very tired and worn scout hut. We are now so close to achieving that aim but just need to raise £10,000 more to get us over the finishing line. We are very grateful to the support from Lincs Cabins who have enabled us to source a new build and to Wales Parish Church who have continued to support us through the provision of a secure area to site our hut. However, although we have a new build ready we need to secure more funding to provide indoor running water, toilets, security lighting, building modifications and disability access. We have worked hard raising funds through the “Buy a Brick” campaign, numerous bag packs, tombolas, sponsored events, a mile of pennies, jumble sales, discos, quizzes and so much more…… Any donations that you can make will help us to achieve this goal and to continue to provide scouting in the community for our young people in a building fit for purpose.
